Tight security in Lhasa, Tibet.

China is planning grand official celebrations in Lhasa, Tibet, to mark 90 years of the Communist Party of China and 60 years of Tibet’s “peaceful liberation” but the exact dates for the celebrations have not been revealed as a security measure. And tourists are stopped by the Chinese authority entering in Lhasa.

The ban is applicable not only for tourist and foreigners but also barred the scholars and Tibetan from neighboring provinces visiting Lhasa. Travel agencies have said the ban would be enforced till 26 July.

While China has ordered work units to prepare song and dance routines for the celebrations of “60 years of liberation”, Tibet has witnessed repeated protests and peaceful demonstrations against Beijing’s rule in the past few months.
